Jim Gerlock

I just read Louie’s email and really enjoyed it.  And, I must admit, I’ve enjoyed them all.  They seem to gain more importance over the years.  And it dawned on me there will be nothing to read unless we all write them.  So, I’ll try to write something normal this time . . . it ain’t easy.  It’s about the ageing process and stuff we’ve collected.  When I left the AKK house in Augusta everything I owned fit in the trunk of the car with room to spare.  Now, when I look around, I can’t believe it.  Sure its taken all these years to collect it and there was a time when it was oh so important that I couldn’t live without it.  But now, what am I going to do with all this mess.  It gets worse for the past four years I’ve been obsessed with collecting old working wooden duck decoys.  They’re like the smoos in the Lit’ Abner cartoon.  They’ve taken over everything.  So, if any of you have any you want to get rid of let me know.  Bottom line. Long as I’m involved in the ageing process, I’ll be collecting more STUFF!  Gotta go now and build more shelves.
